Hi, I'm new here. I know nothing about adoption, and im having twins and I was wondering how do you choose a family that would be willing to take both babies and not split them up?

As a waiting adoptive family, we had to complete forms indicating what "situations" we would be willing to take.....such as twins, medical situations, drug situations, etc. We opened ourselves up to a variety of situations and I'm sure others have as well. Just tell the adoption agency you are thinking about working with and they will be able to show you profiles of families who would be excited to adopt twins. Good luck!

One more thing.....American Adoptions will not separate twins. They will place them together with an adopting family.

I am sure if you contact any American adoptions they will work with you and find a family that is open to twins. We have selected twins on our APQ since they run in our family. My dad had a twin brother and he also had a brother and sister twin.

There are plenty of families out there that would love to have twins. Call American Adoptions and speak with an adoption counselor about your options. They can provide you with a portfolio of profiles of adoptive couples who are interested in adopting twins. I wish you all the best.

hi. i have not been on this forum since shortly after we adopted our TWINS.(which we did not request). our birth mom chose us early in her pregnancy and her and her dr didn't know that she was expecting twins. we knew that deep down inside, this was our match and so we excepted it. about 2 weeks after we excepted the match we received an email from our birth mom saying that she just found out that she was carrying twins. i know we had the right to back out of the match, seeing that we didn't mark twins on our APQ, but to honest, it didn't even cross our minds. the only thing that we thought about was that we were blessed more than we could have hoped for. I hope and pray that you find a loving family for your twins, if adoption is the road you choose. there are so many family that would love to open the hearts to twins, just as we did. they bring us more joy everyday . keep us posted. actually, mom of twins is listed as my "dream job" on my profile. Im sure there are so many out there who would be excited to have twins. I pray all will go well with you and the babies and you find the perfect match
