Stacy
we've only been active about 5 weeks or so........... Im not patient either............ just worried , well , not worried, concerned, that we have 5 kids already and most BM's wont choose that for their baby, even though, its all the more people to love........ and now the numbers joining Am Adoptions to adopt are going up , it seems, rather quickly................. oh well hopefully by next summer thanks for the reply,

There are currently 150 waiting families listed on the Web site right now. What you don't know is how many of those families are already in a match. You don't come off the Web site until you have your baby.
Also, 150 is lower than it was when we got our son at the end of 2007. At that time there were around 230-240 waiting families.
We did sign up with a 2nd agency just in case and it turned out to be a waste of our money. We matched within 3 months with American Adoptions and didn't need the second agency. The funny thing is that the day we took our son home from the hospital we got a call from the 2nd agency that a birth mother had selected us. We had to decline.
There are birth mothers out there that will want their child to grow up in a large family. It just takes time but there is a family for every birth mother and a birth mother for every family.
