I am looking for my brother who was put up for adoption at birth. My mother was young and it is my understanding that my grandparents made her give him up. He was born July 4th, 1954 in Paterson, NJ. My mothers maiden name(which would be the name he was born under) was Ward. Her first name was Annabelle. She was from the Butler, NJ area. She is gone now. She passed away almost 3 years ago now, and it would really mean alot to me to find him so he can know what a wonderful mother he had.

my grandfather was said to be adopted from a young american girl in 1910 to an englidh family , william & christina hewitt. English adoption were private until 1927 . can any one help me find my grandfather (norman george hewitts ) real birth mother

Hi, My name is Eboni. I am helping my brother find his birth family.
My brother was born Dawaun Terrell Colbert on April 27, 1985 in Buffalo, NY. He was put in foster care when he was 18 months old. We think he had a younger brother named Julian who was just a baby at the time. He was in Foster care with a woman named Mrs. Gault until he was 6 years old. My family adopted him when he was 7 years old. At the time, he asked to change his name to Nicholas. His name is now Nicholas Dawaun Rafus.
My brother would like to find anyone from his birth family. We believe his brother was raised by their birth mother. We know that his grandmother used to help take care of him and that she may have taken him to the hospital when he was 18 months.

I was born on July 10 1987 in Jersey County, IL. I have been searching for my parents/ and or siblings for as long as I can remember now. I have no information on my adoption other than I was taken from the hospital and stayed in custody of a private attorney in Louisiana before I was finally adopted a week later. I have tried to contact the hospital, and random numbers that I have found in my adoption file. I have reason to believe that my father might have been in construction, or connected to the Department of Transportation, based on the number of phone numbers I have accidentally called trying to find out information about my adoption, but I have nothing to confirm this. I am unaware of my parents age, or if I have any siblings.
To my mother, if this should find you:
I was adopted into a family where I have one sister, who is my adoptive parent's biological daughter. I love my family very much, but I cannot lie and say that I do not feel a void. When I was younger I would sit by the phone on my birthday and wait for you to call me and let me know you were thinking of me. Not a day goes by that I don't wish that I knew you. Depending on the stage of my life, I have felt everything from grief, to remorse, to regret, to depression, to anger at the fact that you had not come to find me. And now that I am a little bit older, I understand that not everything is black and white, and I understand you did the best that you could. And you did well mom, I just miss you and want you in my life. I wish I had that mother daughter bond that I have always felt I have been missing and I hope that one day we can. I want you to be there for my wedding, and when I have my children. Simply stated, I want you in my life, and I hope you can one day feel the same way about me. I love you mom

I have reason to believe that I was adopted. The birth certificate I have, is missing important information that would normally be on a birth certificate. No doctor, No hospital, No parent's social security numbers, and No mother's signature. Everything on it is all typed. On the line where there is supposed to be the doctor's name, it was stamped with the state registrar. There is no baby pictures of me no where in my familys homes. My pictures start from age 1-2. Everytime the subject is brought up I eaither get a nasty attitude or a very quick subject change. I am supposed to be an only child, but there is a picture of my parents 6 months after I was born in which I am not in but yet my mother is pregnant.( I was also told we were very poor and could not afford pictures, but yet it was a studio picture) My mother was a foster parent for 3 boys before I was born and 1 boy and 1 girl after I was born. The child after I was born, she had for at least a year. I am trying to find out if I was adpoted and I keep getting the run around. Any help would be greatful and very appreciated.

Hello, i am looking for my biological family...my birth mother passed away on Oct 24,1986 (I found this out from the adoption agency.) Her name was listed as Leona Big Shield, but i can find no records of that name. I was born on Jan 13,1976 at Roosevelt Memorial Hospital, in Culbertson Montana, and was relinqueshed by my birth mother at the hospital my name at the hospital was Baby Boy Big Shield. I have not had any luck getting info from the adoption agency, or any other source. If anyone has any info, i would greatly appreciate it. Ooh i forgot to mention she was enrolled in the Standing Rock Tribe at Fort Yates, ND as 4/4 Sioux Indian. Thank you William Troy Fox

I'm just curious as to whether birth parents every try to look up the newborn that was put up for adoption. Do most just forget that part of their life? I was adopted in the early 1960's and have made some minor attempts at finding my birth parents. I have no info on my birth father and have been unable to find anyone in the US with my birth mother's name Margolynn.

I was adopted on Mar. 31, 1976. Born at 7:32 p.m. on 1/26/1976. I know I was born in Boston, Ma.. but do not know hospital.
The only info on birth parents that I have is :
Mother: English/Irish, 130 lbs. 5', 4 1/2". Mother was 17 with fair complexion, green eyes and light brown hair.
Father: Swedish, 125 - 120 lbs., 5' 7 1/2, 19 years old.
Light olive complexion, Blue eyes and dark brown hair.
I am looking for anyone that can assist me in finding more info, or that has possibly started their searches and can direct and possibly support me..

A Survey for Adult Adoptees and Adoptive Parents about Their Interest in Genetic Counseling Services (Research Study)
I am a genetic counseling student at Boston University. I am conducting a research study surveying adult adoptees and adoptive parents about their interests in genetic counseling services.
Genetic counseling involves collecting a detailed family history to confirm or discuss the chance of inheriting a health condition. When the birth family history is unknown, this cannot be performed which may make it hard to provide all genetic services to adoptees and their families.
As genetic counseling is a new and growing field, we are looking for ways to improve it and extend its availability to all communities. Through this survey, I would like to learn if adoptees and adoptive parents might use genetic counseling and in what situations.
If you are an adoptive parent or adoptee at least 18 years of age, please fill out an online survey at:

- Only one adoptive parent per family should complete the survey.
- Participation is voluntary. All responses are anonymous.
